Providing young people with opportunities to explore the world of manufacturing is an important part of our commitment to supporting the next generation of skilled workers and industry leaders. That’s why we recently welcomed a group of students from Xavier Catholic College,for an educational visit to our facility.
During the visit, students were introduced to our operations and gained an insight into the processes involved in modern manufacturing. Our team guided them through various areas of the facility, explaining how products are designed, fabricated, assembled, and tested to meet high industry standards, as well as talking them through the lean manufacturing practices we use daily. The students were able to observe advanced machinery and technology in action, helping them understand the role innovation plays in today’s manufacturing environment.
One of the key objectives of the visit was to showcase the diverse range of career opportunities available within the industry. Students had the chance to speak with members of our workforce, who shared their experiences and discussed pathways into careers such as engineering, welding, machining, project management, and technical trades. These conversations provided valuable insight into the skills, training, and dedication required to succeed in manufacturing.
Safety was also a major focus throughout the tour. Students learned about the importance of workplace safety practices and the measures we take to ensure a safe and productive environment for all employees and visitors.
We were impressed by the students’ enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to engage with our team. Their thoughtful questions and interest in the manufacturing process made the visit an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
