Hearts were left heavy on June, 19th when a local Police Dog (PD) was killed in the line of duty. PD Rambo and his handler (Ian Grigoris) had been tracking a wanted person during early hours of the morning when he was sadly struck by a moving vehicle on a nearby highway.
Following the sudden death of such a loved associate of our police force, members of Neptune Street in our local community contacted the council and Police force expressing the idea of renaming one of our local parks in honour of Rambo and his professionalism, diligence and loyalty. It was at this park only a few months prior where PD Rambo was used to assist in the aid of finding a missing child from a nearby school.
With this in mind, Council reviewed the local’s request, along with the support of Rambo’s policing family, where here, Global Manufacturing Group were contacted to see if they could support in the development of a new plaque to recognise this dog’s true heroic dedication.
With the use of GMG’s advanced state-of-the-art technology, we were able to design and laser-cut a large stainless steel plaque that is now unveiled and on display to recognise and honour such a true hero to our community.
