In the last quarter of 2018, the team at Global Manufacturing Group were involved in the Lean Manufacturing Training Day. The course was run by a company called QMI Solutions. We were excited to have them back to once again deliver the Provantage – Lean Manufacturing Program.

GMG has been using QMI Solutions and Lean Manufacturing techniques for many many years now. The recent refresher course was arranged for the long-term staff with the inclusion of newer staff members to go over the information for the first time.

Some of the areas covered throughout the course were:-

• Waste Reduction
• Value Stream Mapping
• 5s Principles
• Pull systems
• Standardised work

As you can see from the photos below, it was a great opportunity for the guys to break into groups and get hands-on in this interactive learning environment.

The Lego assemblies offer a hands-on approach to teaching the team. Representing how improving the way we go about our daily tasks with simple changes to our techniques, even how we approach our work, results in manufacturing excellence.
